Overview:
On December 26, 2006, an earthquake off the coast of Taiwan severely disrupted communications across East Asia. The quake of 7.1 magnitude on the Richter scale severed eight major undersea cables, flat-lining communications for hundreds of millions of people. With undersea cables severely damaged by the 2006 Taiwan earthquake, the Verizon Business data network spanning six continents was put to the test. Answering the challenge required expertise, creativity, and an around-the-clock commitment to customer service.
