Overview:

Founded in 1851 by Samuel Smith as a family clock- and watch-making business, Smiths is one of the top specialist engineering companies in the world, successfully operating in three distinct sectors: detection, medical, and specialty engineering. The set objectives for this major redesign were to improve operational effectiveness by establishing a minimum technology standard for all business units and to give the company better value for its money. Southward insisted on incorporating security into the network from the outset. In order to achieve a certain level of security for the whole company, they knew that they would have to re-architect their entire baseline security solution, and for that they needed to use experts. Following an extensive evaluation process, Smiths chose Verizon Business for its global footprint, close support network, and heritage of employing proven technologies.
