Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) has provided millions of families with top-quality, affordable health insurance since 1939. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska needed to develop a more strategic view of information security. Their security planning was decentralized, compliance-oriented, and offered only a limited strategic vision-as far as the next audit. There was a need to team with a vendor-neutral strategic partner that could offer expert guidance, define and prioritize issues important to the organization, and provide a comprehensive, long-term security program to reach their goals. The Verizon Business team of security experts became an integral part of the BCBSNE security committee and provided insights on how other organizations are facing security challenges.
