Overview:

EPSL provides administrative services for the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme, the central trustee of the pension funds that were created for employees of the UK's electricity supply industry when the industry was privatised in the 1990s. When EPSL moved to a new office, the need for change became apparent. The staff didn't need sophisticated features beyond voicemail and call forwarding when they worked at home, so the other deciding factors were ease of use, reliability, call quality, and cost. They approached a number of suppliers, including the provider of EPSL's existing system, for quotations to replace the phone system. The company specified Hosted IP Centrex from Verizon Business. Centrex provided the features of a PBX or key system over the network.
