Overview:
Continental Automotive is one of the world's leading suppliers to the automotive industry, employing about 150,000 people in 36 countries. To log incoming shipments, Continental used manual bar-code scanners, a technology that had a lengthy, costly receiving cycle yet provided limited accuracy and inventory control. The company chose a custom Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solution from Xterprise, based on the Microsoft application platform and Motorola RFID scanners.
