Based in Redmond, Washington, Microsoft Corporation is a worldwide leader in software, services, and Internet technologies for personal and business computing. The Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft lacked real-time visibility into its supply chain. It wanted to connect its existing line-of-business applications with manufacturers' systems. The division implemented Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 to improve supply-chain management, and it deployed BizTalk Server 2009 and Hyper-V to virtualize and connect multiple applications.
