Overview:
HASSELL is a multidisciplinary design practice that specialises in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, planning and urban design. They use niche design packages, some of which are highly complex and very expensive. However, usage is intermittent and licences limited, so technicians had to de-install and re-install the package on different desktops. HASSELL virtualised its primary creative design application suite using Microsoft Application Virtualization 4.5. By linking the suite to staff user IDs in Active Directory, it became available to staff wherever and whenever they logged in and allowed ICT support to deploy to new users instantaneously.
