Overview:

Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), a feature of Oracle Database Enterprise Edition, provides enterprises with the option to deploy a single database using a multi-server x86 cluster configuration. RAC offers a number of advantages when compared with a database running on a single server, including scalability, high availability, and improved manageability. The Dell PAN System combines PAN Manager software by Egenera for Dell with efficient Dell PowerEdge servers. By leveraging PAN Manager's advanced infrastructure orchestration capabilities, the Dell PAN System brings further operational and cost benefits to IT departments responsible for Oracle RAC configurations. Together, Dell PAN System and Oracle RAC offer unprecedented levels of database reliability and responsiveness while eliminating the cost and complexity associated with installing, configuring, and maintaining the underlying cluster.
