In 1975 Business Week magazine published an article introducing businesses to the concept of paperless office. Since that time big business has instituted successful strategies to reduce the amount of paper in their respected organizations. But for reasons to be explained small and mid-size businesses have been slow to adopt the same strategies. Why has big business moved away from the theoretical single "Concept" of paperless office and moved on towards several successful different "Approaches" to a paperless office? They‟ve put their focus mainly on replacing inefficient paper oriented business processes with more efficient processes. What helped them move to an approach to a paperless office and how can small and midsize businesses adopt similar strategies to keep up in such a demanding business marketplace?
