Overview:
There is an increased urgency for protecting the environment. There are a number of ideas, initiatives, mandates, and projects in place to help sustain a greener planet. These efforts include waste recycling, alternative (water, solar, and wind) energy usage, and the production of hybrid automobiles. Such efforts have even managed to find its way into the information technology realm. Two words sums up this initiative, "Green Computing". The whole idea of Green Computing is centered on the conservation of energy and the creation of environment-friendly hardware. This initiative exists to minimize the negative environmental impact while maximizing economic viability.
