Overview:
Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) has been the state's leading health insurer for 67 years and covers more than 670,000 customers. Staff performance and customer service are core values of the BCBSRI workforce and core differentiators for the company. A transition from a paper-based system to an online system was made in 2004, yet functionality was still deficient. In 2006, BCBSRI's human resources department decided to search for a new online system that offered greater flexibility, configurability, and functionality. The healthcare provider's human resources department felt that Softscape's integrated people management platform, Softscape Apex, was the best solution to serve its needs, improve its performance management processes, and enable future expansion into new areas as the needs arise.
