Overview:

Alpha Software's motivation for underwriting this white paper is simple. Developers who download and evaluate the product, Alpha Five Version 8, tells one time and again that the technology is superior to better-known offerings, such as Visual Studio, NetBeans, PHP, Ruby, and others. They find they can build desktop, hybrid, and Web applications five to ten times faster - just as one promises in the marketing literature. But they also find that the old maxim, "one doesn't get fired for buying IBM," is alive and well, and updated for the 21st century. One doesn't get fired for buying Microsoft, Sun, Oracle, or trendy scripting tools (such as PHP).
