This paper presents an overview of mobile WiMAX technology and discusses the key role of spectrum analysis for ensuring reliable systems' operation and deployment. Mobile WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access)-IEEE-802.16e-2005 standard is a 'last mile' IP based broadband wireless solution that enables convergence of mobile and fixed broadband networks through a radio access technology known as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access OFDMA) for mobility and improved multipath performance in Non Line of Sight (NLOS) environments.
