Businesses today are challenged to manage their increasingly complex, interconnected IT landscapes. Modern network / internet centric IT architectures and paradigms, such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Cloud, and SaaS can help offer the IT agility demanded by the business. However, security compliance concerns are often a main obstacle for the adoption of such paradigms. Human security administrators are not able to define all these fine grained rules with sufficient assurance, to distribute them to all IT systems and to check many log files or admin consoles. A recent analysis identified the lack of agile SOA security policy management and the lack of agile SOA assurance accreditation as the top two show-stoppers.
