Overview:
Location privacy is one of the major security problems in a Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN). The use of temporary pseudonyms has been suggested by several authors to solve the problem. This paper constructs a formal model of location privacy for WPAN. This theoretical framework contains a formal definition of location privacy and models the access of an adversary to the communication channels from a set of oracles. This theoretical model can be used to analyze and evaluate location privacy - enhancing pseudonym schemes proposed in the literature.
