Overview:

Barclays Global Investors wanted to implement a scalable IT infrastructure to support the company's core business - investment and asset management research and analysis and provide advanced support for transition from Sybase to Oracle Database for critical applications. The challenge was to reduce maintenance windows to meet increasing application uptime requirements and provide robust disaster recovery capabilities. Barclays Global Investors utilized Oracle Database to provide back-end support for critical applications and scalability required for continued growth as well as partnered with Oracle Support and Oracle Advanced Customer Services to streamline the database platform.
