Overview:

HP MC/ServiceGuard (MC/SG) software is used to create high availability clusters on HP 9000 PA-RISC systems and Intel Itanium-based HP Integrity systems running HP-UX. A cluster is generally a networked group of servers having sufficient redundancy of software and hardware that a single point of failure will not significantly disrupt service. By leveraging cluster architecture with the High Availability (HA) option for Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) near continuous database access can be guaranteed. Critical business applications and sensitive data transactions are maintained in the event of unexpected system failures and scheduled downtime. Client connections and database operations can instantly move from one server to the other without interruption to end-users.
