Overview:
A global financial services company is one of the 200 largest companies in the world. A server room contained a large number of racks managed by legacy KVM switches. The racks can only be accessed by cumbersome crash carts. The legacy KVM switches use a mass of cables, creating clutter and diminishing airflow, causing overheating. The challenge was to overhaul the crowded server room - eliminate the crash carts and reduce the amount of cabling.. Minicom installed a KVM RackManager and Smart CAT5 switch into each rack. The KVM RackManager with integrated 16 port switch is a slim, rack-mountable, console drawer and occupies just 1U of rack space.
