Overview:

Minnesota residents who lose their jobs because of downsizing or other reasons beyond their control turned to the state's Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program for help. Administered by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), the UI Program provided displaced workers with partial wage replacement to assist them in becoming re-employed. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development turned to BearingPoint for help in implementing its Unemployment Insurance Technology Initiative Project (UI TIP). BearingPoint professionals completed work on the 51-month project in October 2007, on time and on budget. UI TIP is the first successful implementation of a fully integrated UI tax and benefits system using modern technology.
