Aeons (in information technology speak) ago, Sun Microsystems introduced the "Strap line", "The Network is the Computer", and along came a new revolution that changed the way one works. The days of an operating system running on a single machine is over. Thanks to the genius in Tim Berners-Lee, one is moving on to an Internet operating system era. Gone are the days when one writes applications (be it EAI, or e-Commerce, or mobile applications) targeting a single platform. Now most applications are written targeting the global web platform.
