Overview:

A leading manufacturer of power equipment engaged their services to unify multiple applications into a single interface. These applications were developed for configuring devices for substation automation. Their client's devices were extolled for their flexibility and reliability yet feared for their complexity. Pathfinder discovered ways to simplify the configuration task for users by understanding and documenting the configuration process to ensure it has a logical flow and defining as many system defaults as possible (using the 80/20 rule) to hide unneeded complexity from the engineer doing the configurations.
