Overview:
A regulated financial services provider, Amvescap must carefully safeguard company and client data. The company must also retain records of email and instant messaging transactions for seven years, and be able to respond quickly to questions about mail flow. The company also needed to protect itself from viruses, ensure compliance with relevant laws and carefully manage its overall mail system. Amvescap relies on more than 40 Exchange 2003 servers to host 10,000 mailboxes for about 7,600. In December of 2004, Amvescap installed eight IronPort C-Series email security appliances: four IronPort C60 appliances and four IronPort C300 appliances.
