Overview:

Banpro Banco Universal is an important Venezuelan commercial institution with roots that go back more than 40 years to a small non-profit savings and loan venture. Employee use of unauthorized and non-job-related Internet content was robbing this bank of the bandwidth it needed to conduct normal business operations efficiently. This was also exposing the bank to potentially dangerous Internet-borne viruses and other threats. Major security and content control measures would need to be implemented throughout the bank, without disrupting corporate or branch operations. Banpro implemented secure content management technology that allowed it to restrict employee Internet and email use to business-related activities and content. It also installed enterprise-wide antivirus protection to keep more than 400 workstations of heterogeneous configuration clear of system-crippling Internet threats.
