Overview:
Sudo is a free utility available for most UNIX/Linux system variants that provides separation of duties where root level permissions are needed to perform certain duties, and allows a user to assume the privileges of another user, including the super-user account. Symark PowerBroker is a commercial program that also allows similar but expanded functionality. PowerBroker offers more granularity in access control, extensive logging options, and the ability to verify a program's validity.
