Overview:

A web service is an autonomous software application or component accessible via Internet. Service composition is a promising idea underlying web services since it allows the definition and the implementation of new functionality by combining pre-existing services. PEWS (Path Expressions for Web Services) is an interface specification language that allows the user to specify the behavior of a simple or composed service interface. PEWS extends WSDL interface descriptions by adding behavioral constraints. PEWS programs can be seen from two perspectives: a pure control dimension and a control-plus-data dimension. This paper deals with the control-plus-data dimension that offers operators that implicitly introduce communication constraints among the services.
