Overview:

The Government of the State of Indiana has a goal of running government services more economically and leaving more money in the taxpayer's wallet. With seven data centers, sprawling server infrastructure, and few IT standards, the State of Indiana's IT professionals faced problems on every front. An aging and highly diverse PC fleet meant agency employees had to contend with slow systems and frequent downtime. IT lacked effective remote management technologies, hampering its ability to get users back online quickly when problems arose. The newly established Indiana Office of Technology (IOT) chose the energy-efficient performance of Intel multi-core technologies to power the vast majority of its data center infrastructure.
