Overview:

Luton Borough Council is meeting the challenge to enhance public services while delivering best value to tax payers using Oracle's Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). A unitary authority in South East England, the council prides itself on providing top-quality services to its 183,000 citizens when, where, and how they need them. In 2007 Luton launched Do It Online, a browser-based self-service solution that allows citizens to apply and pay for environmental services online without recourse to the council's call center. Built on Oracle's SOA suite, Do It Online links the council's existing applications into end-to-end automated processes using behind-the-scenes Web services technology.
