The UltraSPARC IV processor is among the first Chip Multithreading (CMT) processors that follows Sun’s Throughput Computing strategy and continues the tradition of binary code compatibility by complying with the 64-bit SPARC International Version 9 Instruction Set Architecture (ISA).
