Overview:
CatOS and Cisco IOS operating systems are deployed in critical networks. CatOS (with its Cisco IOS option for router daughter-cards and modules) is supported in the Catalyst 6500/6000, 5500/5000, and 4500/4000 series switches. Cisco IOS system software is supported in the Catalyst 6500/6000 and 4500/4000 series switches. This white paper covers Cisco IOS system software. This paper is specifically focused on the deployment of Catalyst 6513 fabric enabled switches configured with Cisco IOS system software version 12.1(13)E. This paper provides modular configuration guidance, and so each section can be read independently and changes made in a phased approach.
