Icebox, LLC switched to Microsoft Windows CE .NET from Wind River VxWorks and OpenTV Device Mosaic when building the latest version of its Icebox kitchen Internet appliance. Windows CE .NET offers powerful development tools that enabled Icebox to build, faster and more cost-effectively, a smart device that delivers fast switching among various usage modes, while offering support for the most advanced multimedia and Web technologies-unavailable with Wind River and other competitors.
