Overview:

In the past few years, many businesses and some public sector agencies have invested heavily in some combination of ERP, supply chain management, sales force automation, data warehouse, query and reporting and OLAP software. Wanting a better return on those investments, they are now wondering whether to invest in data mining. Data mining is a process for sifting through lots of data to find useful information that aids in decision making.On the surface, compared to the others, data mining seems to be the riskiest investment. Data mining jargon is thick, the math behind the scenes is mysterious and it seems to touch only a few people in the organization.
