Overview:

Red Electrica was one of the first companies in the world devoted exclusively to electricity transmission and to the operation of electricity systems. Spanish electricity system operator REE needed to create an information platform that managed information and management tasks for processes specifically related to the electricity market. Red Electrica deployed BEA WebLogic Server 8.1 to develop and manage the 'e.sios' (Sistema de Informacion del Operador del Sistema, or System Operator's Information System) application, that carries out critical task functions at Red Electrica de Espana.
