Overview:

K2, a software development company based in Redmond, Washington, created its namesake K2 software to help companies streamline and automate workflow and business process management. The company's software has been adopted by companies in more than 40 countries around the world, ranging from African Bank, to NTT DoCoMo, to TV Guide. As the company prepared to release its new process-driven application platform, it required an enterprise-grade relational database and reporting solution, as well as portal technology. The company also required a development system that would enhance collaboration for its international team of developers. K2 took advantage of the Microsoft Application Platform, including Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for the relational database and SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services for reporting.
