Overview:
Midsized kitchen-equipment manufacturer Modular was experiencing rising productivity challenges as a result of its heterogeneous IT environment. Multiple versions of the Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office system were in use, causing the small IT staff to spend large amounts of time on desktop support. To streamline its desktop computing environment, Modular deployed a single image based on the Windows Vista operating system and Microsoft Office Professional 2007 across 90 percent of its computers. As a result, the company has already seen a 25 percent reduction in desktop support time, and is benefiting from enhanced security features, easier network administration, and improved end-user productivity.
