Overview:

As a developer of products and services based on the J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) platform, one may face an important challenge when deciding which J2EE application server to use (or support). One might have customers demanding that the application run on their existing J2EE architecture, or they might be asking to recommend architecture for implementing the solution. In either case, choosing the right application server that meets customers' needs is a business-critical decision. One could also provide his/her application on a J2EE application server that is deployed with his/her application in such a way that the server is transparent to the customer. This way they won't need to install and manage a separate server.
