Overview:

Alibris, Inc., an online marketplace for new and used books, music items, and movies, as well as rare and out-of-print titles, has grown rapidly since it was founded in 1998. As is the case with most high-growth companies, the technology evolved over time as the business grew and changed. Unfortunately, this evolution led to growing complexity. Alibris, Inc. needed a Web platform that could not only scale with them but enable growth by providing the flexibility necessary to bring new applications to market quickly. Alibris selected Oracle WebLogic Portal (previously known as BEA WebLogic Portal), which offered a flexible platform and a large developer community.
