A security pattern is a generic solution to a recurring security problem. Security patterns help developers and designers to design and implement secure systems and avoid common mistakes. This paper presents categories on security patterns in web applications and two patterns in detail. Also, this paper takes a look at implementation of these two patterns in two open source web applications.
