Overview:

This paper outlines a new model for storage to meet the needs of HPCC systems. This new model leverages the same low-cost hardware, but uses a new file system CFS (Cluster File Systems), or GFS (Global File Systems), standard Ethernet running iSCSI vs. NAS, and existing Fibre Channel SANs to add new dimensions of scalability, performance, security and manageability to HPCC installations.
