Overview:

Algeria is the second largest country in Africa. Its police force is the Algerian National Police or Direction Generale de la Surete Nationale. To run its computers, the police force was using the Windows XP operating system. The organization wanted to achieve higher efficiency by better integrating the client operating system with the rest of its IT infrastructure. It also wanted to enhance network security. The police force decided to deploy the Windows Vista operating system to 11,000 computers at stations across the country. In conjunction with the deployment, the organization is using the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) for Software Assurance to streamline management tasks and enhance network security.
