Overview:

Founded in 1958 as an obstetrics and gynecology clinic, Gachon University Gil Hospital has grown to become one of Korea's leading healthcare providers. To prepare for its 50th anniversary in 2008, in 2003 Gachon University Gil Hospital launched an initiative called 'Take-off 2008: Health Hub in Asia'. The aim was to become the best medical center in northeast Asia by improving medical technology, education, research, and patient care. As part of the project, Gachon University Gil Hospital developed systems to manage nursing schedules, patient treatments, and general administration tasks. One of these was a medical information event monitoring system developed using Oracle SOA Suite.
