Overview:

RTVI is a 24-hour Russian language TV network that serves a worldwide Russian-speaking audience. The challenge was that the public internet is not perfect; in fact, after monitoring the IP video circuit between Moscow and New York, it can be seen that there are over 1,000 lost packets per hour, over 10,000 out of order packets per hour, and jitter of greater than 25 milliseconds. Path 1's Cx1000 video over IP gateway with Forward Error Correction (FEC) proved itself to be the ideal solution by enabling RTVi to shield the video signals from the severe impairments imposed by the public internet.
