Overview:
The TRUMPF Group is one of the world's leading production engineering companies. Getting VoIP up and running was not without its challenges. It was really quite an effort to make the existing network environment VoIP-compatible, so they quickly decided to seek new solutions and components. For the initial VoIP deployment, TRUMPF selected Huttinger Electronik as its test site. TRUMPF holds 75 percent ownership in the company. Prior to the VoIP deployment, Huttinger operated a pure data network. The plan was to add VoIP into a converged network when the firm relocated to a new building within its industrial park. The company deployed Foundry Networks FastIron SX 800 and FastIron GS 648 workgroup switches which form the network foundation for TRUMPF.
