Overview:

Many scientific applications need to solve very large sparse linear systems in order to simulate phenomena close to reality. Grid computing is an answer to the growing demand of computational power but communication times are significant and the bandwidth is variable, therefore frequent synchronizations slow down performances. The use of the parallel linear multispliting method reduces the number of synchronizations needed by a parallel direct algorithm but suffers from load balancing. This paper presents a load balancing of the parallel linear multisplitting method in a grid computing environment permitting to obtain a gain on execution time up to 74%.
