Overview:
The objective of this paper is to develop an algebraic theory of threads, interleaving of threads, and interaction of threads with services that covers the case where the threads and services are distributed over the nodes of a network and both explicit thread migration and implicit thread migration take place. A thread is the behaviour of a deterministic sequential program under execution. Multi-threading refers to the concurrent existence of several threads in a program under execution.
