Overview:
Increasingly, enterprise and corporate customers choose Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to securely connect remote locations through cost-effective Internet access instead of using expensive dedicated WAN links. These VPN solutions are commonly deployed across various transmission mediums, such as terrestrial, wireless, and satellite links. As a leading satellite broadband network solution, the LinkStar platform extends access from the Internet Backbone and VPNs to remote locations via satellite using the standard Internet Protocol (IP). This paper presents encrypted VPN solutions using the LinkStar platform and addresses compatibility issues encountered using VPN solutions with the ViaSat TCP Performance Enhancing Proxy (TCP-PEP).
