Overview:

Today's medium and large businesses are faced with seemingly never-ending requirements for greater and more economical bandwidth and more IP-friendly Metropolitan and Wide Area Networks (MANs/WANs). As a result, enterprises increasingly are turning to service providers for Carrier Ethernet solutions. The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), an influential industry organization, has defined a series of much-needed specifications equipment makers and service providers can follow to deliver Carrier Ethernet services in a consistent, if not equivalent, manner. Now, as more and more service providers implement and enhance MEF-based solutions, many are looking for ways to differentiate their offerings in today's competitive environment.
