Overview:
After the storm, the city of New Orleans recognized an opportunity to expand its original IT upgrade plans. Because the majority of city agencies lost all computing capabilities, it was a chance for the IT department to create an innovative centralized infrastructure that could support the city and remain cost-effective. The team wanted to establish an easily managed environment that would deliver faster, more reliable functionality and include a solid disaster-recovery component. The city of New Orleans deployed Dell for its solution and implemented Dell EMC CX700 Storage Area Network with 10 to 15 terabytes of storage and a Dell PowerVault tape backup unit.
