Overview:

Enterprises continue to invest heavily in perimeter security. Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Servers (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Servers (IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and other security products continue to be widely deployed. But even as perimeter defenses become more sophisticated, network security becomes more problematic, as users adopt new applications, communications channels, and work habits. Under pressure from new privacy and security regulations and from an increased frustrated user community weary of virus and worm attacks, enterprise IT teams are coming to realize just how vulnerable enterprise networks really are.
