Microsoft's Windows Vista has arrived - and with it, a number of inescapable decisions for IT professionals. Even though Vista contains some attractive and highly touted new features, it is an evolutionary, not a revolutionary, new version of Windows. For most corporate customers, Vista does not represent the kind of quantum leap in end-user computing that will deliver a critical business edge immediately upon deployment. Still, there is a lot to be said for Vista. Reviewers are nearly unanimous in praising the stability of the software. In addition, Vista was built under Microsoft's Secure Development Lifecycle program, which so far seems to have yielded a more secure product than previous versions of Windows.
