Overview:
In the past, Web analytics solution provider WebTrends maintained its products on multiple platforms, with its products for Linux and UNIX accounting for 41 percent of costs but only 17 percent of revenue. To better align itself with market demands, WebTrends decided to standardize on the Windows operating system for all new software development. The company's decision to narrow its product platforms to one - Microsoft software - is delivering several benefits, including improved alignment with customer needs, the ability to deliver richer and more competitive products, reduced technical complexity, improved staffing, low total cost of ownership, and a relationship with Microsoft that is proving valuable beyond software licenses.
